About the Society: Second oldest society in America formed by Veterans and descendants of veterans of wars fought on American soil.

· Organized September 14, 1814 commemorating the Battle of Fort McHenry by “Defenders” of  Baltimore.

· IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.

· Only earlier society is the Society of the Cincinnati formed in 1783 by officers who served with Washington in the American Revolution.

· General Society, Sons of the Revolution was formed in 1876.

· National Society, Sons of the American Revolution was formed in 1889

· There is also a “National Society, Daughters of 1812” organized in 1892

USS Constitution, also known as Old Ironsides, is a three-masted wooden-hulled heavy frigate of the United States Navy. She is the world's oldest ship of any type still afloat
